A brief biography
I am a trained architect (B.Arch from IIT 2016) and self taught photographer based just outside of Chicago. For years I’ve had a hunger to learn how just about everything is made and this has lead to the development of a broad set of skills which I use today for custom fabrication work. While my primary focus is on woodworking, sewing, finish work, and the building arts I’m no stranger to: ceramics, mold making, papercraft, machining, welding, and CNC milling.
My leading interests are in material reuse, object longevity, and restoration. I like to think of my work as a modernist’s sensibilities developed from early 20th century Chicago and inner Chicagoland buildings as a starting point. I’m still early in my journey and I hope I have many happy years making and studying beautiful objects. I’m currently interested in learning stained glasswork as well as traditional window and door making techniques.
